Andrea & Adam’s Norfolk County Wedding

I self-admittedly have not been the greatest at blogging all of my weddings in 2018. Truthfully, it’s been a busy year and blogging takes a lot of time, so it’s one of the things that I’ve had to let slide a bit to keep up with all the other daily demands that running your own business involves. I’ve also been working on completely updating the Splash Photography website over the past many months. This is process that has taken quite a bit longer than I expected it to. Good news though.. the new site should be live within the next 2 weeks YAY! All of this has kept me away from blogging as vigorously as I used to, but I assure you that I’ve missed it a lot. I secretly love blogging (ok, maybe it’s not such a huge secret). I love showcasing the stunning and soulful people that I’m blessed to spend my days working with. I love finding ways to connect the written word to images and help people really feel connected to a series of photographs. I’ve really been feeling the need to share more of the images I’ve captured this year, but mostly feel compelled to share the people and their stories. Over the next several weeks, I hope to share more of the beautiful weddings and engagements I’ve journeyed through this past year from Norfolk County and beyond. Let’s start with a beautiful Norfolk County Wedding.

Today I’m starting with Andrea & Adam. First off, when a bride shares the same first name with you you’re in a pretty good place right off the top, so meeting Andrea & Adam was an immediate connection for me. What I came to love about this lovely couple was their unique subtleties with each other. They aren’t the overly ‘touchy-feely’ couple. Now, I don’t believe that Adam would be opposed to and increased level of PDA with his gorgeous wife, but Andrea isn’t the overly sentimental type. She not entirely opposed to the occasional hug, but she certainly isn’t going to be the one to suggest it. She’s a rational and focused individual with a heart for her friends and family. Her affections are showcased through the intensely authentic eye contact she gives, her all-in soulful smiles, and her sarcastic sense of humour. She has a gift of making people feel welcome without overdoing it. The presence that Adam & Andrea create together is one of a complete, committed love for each other. There’s just a knowing connection between the two of them that supersedes any other connection in the room. It’s hard to put it into words really, but it’s pretty spectacular.

On November 10th, I photographed Andrea & Adam’s wedding at the Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church in Delhi Ontario. It was a lovely ceremony and it was a full house! These two have no shortage of family and friends! Once the ceremony was complete, we made our way to Andrea’s parent’s farm to take their wedding photos. The property has a stunning cottage on the lake that we were able to photograph inside of. We were so grateful for this as the temperatures are chilly in November and we didn’t want to spend too much time outdoors. That being said, we did still have to head out on the lakefront for a few images because I just can’t let that beautiful opportunity slip away when it’s right there in front of us! Andrea, Adam and their whole gang were pretty accommodating with my requests. After we wrapped up photos we made our way back to The German Home in Delhi for an amazing night of celebration.

So grateful to have been a part of this spectacular day!
