Nevada & Jesse have that unsuspecting love story… the one where you’re just out and about minding your regular day, and all of sudden something… or someone happens randomly that changes everything. Nevada and Jesse began their first meeting professionally. Nev was Jesse’s nurse, Jesse was Nevada’s patient. But upon their first meeting there was something special there. Perhaps neither of them knew exactly what that something was on the first meeting, but it was there undeniably and after a few more appointments there was no resisting that Jesse and Nevada had something uniquely their own, something special that would change their lives.
I was so honoured to share in this once-in-a-lifetime evening wedding. Jesse & Nevada were so wonderful during the entire planning process of their wedding. I knew from the get-go that this wedding would be different than most others I photographed noting the ceremony was happing at dusk, the photos happening outdoors after dark, the informal but spectacularly personal and close-knit celebration reception and cocktail time, and the fact that Nevada is the sisters of one of my all time favourite people, Tash who holds such a special piece of my heart. Although Nev & Jesse and I have not had a chance to get to know each other prior to the wedding planning process, it almost felt that I’ve known them for years as Tash and I chat regular about those we love most and Nev and Jesse’s names commonly enter into these conversations. I feel so much gratitude for being able to share with this family on this beautiful day!
Nevada & Jesse’s wedding ceremony took place on the dock at the Clark residence in Caledonia. After months of careful preparations for the big day the grounds were simply perfect and the ceremony was so very beautiful as the sun set aside us. After a little time for photos, Jesse & Nevada made their grand entrance into their reception through a tunnel of sparklers held by their guests, and then headed into an evening filled with laughter, happy tears, and a choreographed first dance. Such a perfect day!
