Jen & AJ ~ Port Dover Wedding

I had the utmost pleasure of photographing Jen & AJ’s Port Dover wedding last weekend. I don’t know how to properly express my adoration for these two. If you’ve met Jen & AJ you probably know what I mean. It’s hard to put into words. They are lovely, charming together, fun, funny, compassionate, patient, kind, and beautiful. It’s not just these characteristics that make them so special, but it’s the way they make you feel when your around them. They have this simple, yet hard to come by ability to make you feel appreciated for even the simplest of things. They are gracious, genuine, and just make you happy when you’re around them. But, I think the thing I love the most about AJ & Jen is how honest and evident their love is for each other. You can feel this bond between them from the moment you meet them. It’s unique and overwhelming (in the best way).

Jen & AJ celebrated the most gorgeous backyard wedding at Jen’s parent’s lakefront home in Port Dover. It was a ceremony with their closest friends and family that left you swooning on a perfect August day. The weather could not have been better. The backdrop of Lake Erie was stunning, and the perfect scene for such a lovely couple to be wed in front of.

After the ceremony was complete, Jen & AJ were lucky enough to have friends of theirs offer to meet them at the Port Dover Marina to take a few photos on their sailboat. This was such a treat, and all of us were certainly grateful for the opportunity to capture some unique photos on the beautiful baby blue boat. After the stop at the marina, we travelled to a few other favourite spots of mine in the area. I have to say that I just love how fun and upbeat Jen & AJ are. They were literally up for pretty much anything as far as photos went and gave me creative freedom while they were just being their charming selves. They even took off their shoes to play around in  the water at our little Port Dover waterfall. Eventually we made way back to the wedding reception at the Port Dover Community Centre where Jen, AJ, their family and friends had decorated the hall elegantly.

This entire day was a dream for me, and I’m pretty sure that everyone involved would agree. I was grateful to work with some of the best people on this day including Krista from Black Creek Events, who helped everything move along smoothly all day long.

Jen & AJ, what can I say… I do really love you guys! I’m looking so forward to seeing you more in the years to come around this lovely town we both live in. I’m so thrilled to have been a part of this special day. It has been such an honour to share in your lives and I hope to continue to get to know you even better over the years ahead. Much love to both of you.
